About the practice
Dr Ian Noel Human, MBChB MMed
With a particular interest in the intricate connections of the brain and the delicate structure of the spine, neurosurgery has always suited Dr Human. He offers a wide range of cranial and spinal procedures, using neuronavigation, robotic assistance and endoscopic technique where they serve the patient best.

Philosophy
Neurosurgery is, by its nature, work done at small scale on tissue that does not forgive. The premise of the practice is straightforward: spend the time needed to understand each case, choose the least invasive technique that addresses the underlying problem, and be honest about what surgery can and cannot achieve.
Some patients arrive needing surgery soon. Others are best served by careful monitoring, a second opinion, or by being referred onward to a colleague. The consultation is the first piece of work, not the gateway to it.
